Local HistoryFirst settled by John Winchell, from Wayne County, Mich., in 1827, originally called Millville, in 1828. This stage post office was succeeded by a government post office named White Pigeon Prairie on February 16, 1833. The name was shortened to White Pigeon on January 21, 1835.
