Ubly Dragway

Local History

Alfred Pagett opened the first store here in 1865 and the settlement became known as Pagett's Corners, he renamed it Ubley after his native town in England, but the depot sign misspelled it Ubly, and it has so remained.  The village was platted and promoted by D. H. Pierce.  Incorporated as a village in 1896.
