Three Jeep Tours

Sandy Korners offers three different adventures!

Drive the Sand Dunes at Silver Lake

Enjoy the thrill of driving your very own jeep up and over the spectacular sand dune mountains at Silver Lake.  Each Jeep has four seats so the entire family can enjoy the thrilling experiences.  It is 60 minutes of sheer fun where there are no roads.  Drive over great sweeps of sand ridges and valleys near the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan.  An experienced guide will make sure you get the most fun and see all of the remarkable sights in this unique area.  Make a stop or two to take pictures and, if desired, change drivers.  Kick a little sand!  Driving the dunes is exciting and challenging making a vacation adventure that will be long remembered.

Manistee Adventure

For the ultimate driving adventure, join us for a 220 mile, two-day and one-night excursion through the back roads of the Manistee National Forest.  The tour includes five meals and overnight motel.  Dress for comfort and bring plenty of film.

Most of the route follows a variety of unpaved roads and secluded trails through a sea of ferns under a dense forest canopy then into wide open spaces with panoramic vistas.  At the "humps" you can test the Jeep's 4-wheel drive and remarkable suspension system and stop long enough for a continental breakfast 'neath the big sky.  Some areas are serene where butterflies can be seen visiting a myriad of wildflowers.  Park of the trail follows historic rivers like the Pere Marquette, Pine and Manistee.

Day tow starts out in grand style with breakfast served on the hood of one of the Jeeps and a walk across the "Little Mac" suspension footbridge over the Manistee River.  There is time built into the tour for a few stops to simply soak up the wilderness scenery and smell the flowers!  This area teems with wildlife and you are likely to see deer and wild turkey plus a variety of songbirds.  Bald eagles also nest in this region.

Special October Color Tours

For the entire month of October, Sandy Korners offers a fantastic autumn color package.  It is a three-hour tour that includes driving over the road less and dunes, then exploring the two-track trails through colorful Manistee National Forest.  A stop at Pentwater for a fine meal is included.  The trip will take you through forest hills and valleys rich with color and the sweet smell of autumn leaves.
