Local History

Settlers from New York State came into the area in 1825.  Abraham B. Markham built a grist mill here in 1826.  Northville Township was separated from Plymouth Township in 1831, and being north of it was called Northville.  Incorporated as a village in 1867 and as a city in 1955.
