Local History
One of the first areas to be settled in Genesee County.
Notable first settlers are Benjamin Pearson and Charles Beecher, both whom have
roads named after them today.
Early names were Genesee, then Dover and finally Mt. Morris
named after a city in New York where many of the early settlers came from.
