The Wyndgate, one of Metro Detroit's most elegant private clubs, presents The Westwynd Golf Club in Rochester. The 18-Hole Championship Golf Course, designed by nationally acclaimed architect Craig Schreiner, flows over fescue-lined meadows, hilly woodlands, and dramatic wetlands. Westwynd offers the Gatehouse Grille, a superb Bistro for fine casual dining and memorable banquets.
The Wyndgate, tucked away in the tranquil Rochester hills of northern Oakland County, offers an extraordinary retreat. Scenic and diverse, The Wyndgate is a classic in a stunning setting where meticulous groundskeeping and responsible environmental management are guiding principles.
Brick cart paths lead the golfer from hole to hole, over noble stone or wooden bridges, and past award-winning landscapes which complement the natural beauty of the spectacular terrain.
The original course, Eastwynd, was designed following the natural contour of the land, presenting serious golfers a challenge enveloped in nature's beauty. With five tees for each hole, golfers of all levels experience an entertaining excursion for every round played.
The high level of participation in Club events reveals the camaraderie and sportsmanship fostered at The Wyndgate. The golf professionals present a varied and exciting schedule of events including: Men's and Ladies' Invitationals, Twilight golf, Club Championship competitions, Junior golf program, Couples' events, and Clinics, among others.
Of course, the staff of professionals are always ready to schedule private lessons on the spacious driving range, at the chipping and putting practice areas, or on the course.
This new 18 hole course, opened it doors to members and guests September 10th, 2002.
