Flint & Pere Marquette Company

The Flint & Pere Marquette Company was crucial to the development of Clio.

Pine Run residents provoked the railroad officials by refusing them free right-of-way.  Austin Griffes had the foresight to offer the railroad free right-of-way to clear the land to the town line and plenty of land for the railroad to go through Clio, instead of Pine Run.

If it had not been for the tracks bypassing Pine Run to a mile west of it, Clio probably would not be around today.
