Local HistoryStump and Morris had a sawmill here in Maple Valley Township, and the place was called Stumptown. In 1862, Charles Parker recorded the plat of forty acres and named it Coral "because it was easy to spell." A station on the Detroit, Lansing & Northern Railroad.
