State Parks and Camping in MichiganLocal HistoryThis village on the Waska River was given a station on the Duluth, South Shore & Atlantic Railroad in 1872. It was platted in 1887 and given a post office named Superior on May 2, 1888, with George Hodge as its first postmaster.
